About
What should you put
on an about page?
Who is an ‘about’ page really for anyway?
It’s for the reader right? Yes, and it’s purpose is for the reader to learn about us. So, it should relate all the cool things about us to the reader.

Do most "about" pages you see do a good job of this? I don’t think so.
What does your average about page do? The ones I see spout off a lot of boring statistics, credentials and history about the web author or his company. Rarely do they relate all this information to the reader. They don’t connect the dots. They don’t explain why those advanced degrees and industry awards are of any interest to us. Do they?
Does your ‘about’
page relate the
facts?
For example, I have been a database marketing consultant to a wide range of companies, from tiny to Fortune 50, for over 25 years.
But you don’t care. It means nothing to you. And it shouldn’t. Because I haven’t told you why that might be important.
However, if I orient it right, if I put it in context and if I explain it right, then maybe, just maybe, I can show you how that could be important.
This is an example of a WordPress page, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from. You can create as many pages like this one or sub-pages as you like and manage all of your content inside of WordPress.
