Relationship marketing emphasizes customer retention and continual satisfaction rather than individual sales transactions and per-case customer problem resolution.

Relationship marketing differs from other forms of marketing in that it targets an audience with more directly suited information on products or services which suit the retained customer’s interests, as opposed to direct or “Intrusion” marketing, which focuses upon acquisition of new clients by targeting majority demographics based upon prospective client lists.

A relationship of trust is created between your customer and you or your company. When the customer feels a need for the types of products or services you offer, he/she will think of you first because of the relationship.
